Services

End-to-end solar engineering services

From load measurement and design to installation, supervision and maintenance. One engineering team and one point of responsibility for residential, commercial and industrial systems.

Solar system design

Complete system engineering based on your real consumption: sizing panels, inverter and batteries, calculating cable sections and protection, and laying out the array for maximum yield.

  • Electrical single line diagram (Single Line Diagram)
  • Yield estimate and detailed bill of materials

Load measurement with Fluke instruments

We measure your actual electrical loads with professional Fluke instruments to find peak demand, running current and power quality, so the system fits your needs: not oversized and costly, not undersized and tripping.

  • Current, power and peak demand
  • Measurement report the design is built on

Panel mounting structure design

We design steel mounting structures to engineering standards, calculating wind load, panel weight and the optimal tilt angle, so the structure stays solid and safe on the roof or ground for years.

  • Structural wind and dead load calculations
  • Optimal tilt and orientation for your site

Full system installation

Turnkey installation of residential, commercial and industrial systems: structures, panels, inverters, batteries, wiring and protection, followed by testing, commissioning and handover.

  • Built to electrical safety standards
  • Testing, commissioning and user training

Installation supervision

If you have your own installer or contractor, our engineers supervise the work step by step and verify it matches the design and standards before commissioning, so you receive a sound, reliable system.

  • Work checked against the design
  • Inspection and acceptance before start-up

Maintenance for all systems

Scheduled and emergency maintenance for residential, commercial and industrial systems, including ones installed by others: panel cleaning, inverter, battery and connection checks, and fixing any drop in output.

  • Maintenance contracts
  • Fault diagnosis and repair
  • Residential
  • Commercial
  • Industrial

How we work

From measurement to power in four steps

  1. Site visit and load measurement

Our engineer visits, measures your loads with Fluke instruments and surveys the roof or ground.

  2. Engineering design

We design the electrical system and the structure, and give you an itemised quote.

  3. Installation or supervision

We install the full system, or supervise your team so the work matches the design.

  4. Commissioning and maintenance

We test, commission and hand over the system, then keep it maintained.

Amp calculator

Size your system in amps

Enter the amps you need, the same way you count them on a generator subscription, or tap your appliances to add them. The matching system appears instantly.

Add your appliances (approx. amps)
Required power2.2 kW
Day and night energy consumption39.6 kWh
Panels (590 W)14 panels
Array size8.3 kW
Suggested inverter3 kW
Batteries (51.2 V)600 Ah
Battery capacity29.3 kWh
Approx. roof area40 m²

* Enter nighttime hours only. The same load is assumed to run directly from the panels for 6 daytime hours per day. Panel sizing assumes 6 equivalent solar production hours at 80% efficiency to supply the daytime load and recharge the nighttime batteries. Batteries cover the nighttime load only, with 90% usable capacity at 51.2 V. The load is single-phase 220 V and appliance currents are approximate. Final sizing follows a Fluke load measurement.

FAQ

Questions our customers ask about solar

What services does Ur Gate Solar Energy offer?

We offer solar system design, load measurement with Fluke instruments, panel mounting structure design to engineering standards, full installation, installation supervision, and maintenance for all residential, commercial and industrial systems.

Why do you measure loads with Fluke instruments before designing?

Because good design starts with real numbers. Fluke instruments accurately measure current, power and peak demand, so we size panels, inverter and batteries correctly and avoid a system that is oversized and costly or undersized and shuts down under heavy load.

How do I size a solar system in amps?

Add up the amps of the appliances you run at the same time, as you would for a generator subscription. At 220 V, 1 A is about 220 W, so a 10 A load is roughly 2.2 kW. Multiply by daily hours of use to get consumption, which sets the number of panels and the inverter and battery size. Try the amp calculator on this page; final sizing follows a Fluke load measurement.

Which brands do you work with?

Inverters: Deye, AUXSOL, Solis, ALP Solar, SRNE, Luxpower, Sungrow, GoodWe and SAJ. Batteries: Bett Energy, SVOLT, Deye, Dyness, Lithtec, BasenGreen, ALP Solar, Sungrow and AUXSOL. Panels: LONGi, AIKO, JinkoSolar and JA Solar. We use ABB electrical and protection equipment in our systems.

Do you design panel mounting structures to engineering standards?

Yes. Structures are designed with calculations covering panel weight, wind load and the optimal tilt and orientation for the site, with steel sections and fixing methods chosen for the roof or ground.

Do you supervise installations carried out by another team?

Yes. We provide engineering supervision, checking the work against the design and safety standards and inspecting the system before start-up.

Do you maintain systems you did not install?

Yes. We maintain residential, commercial and industrial systems regardless of who installed them, from cleaning and routine checks to fault diagnosis and repair.

How much does a solar system cost?

Cost depends on your actual loads, hours of use and battery type. After measuring your loads on site we provide an itemised quote before any commitment.

What is the difference between on-grid, off-grid and hybrid systems?

On-grid systems work with the national grid without batteries, off-grid systems run on batteries without the grid, and hybrid systems combine both, which suits most homes and shops in Iraq.

How long do solar panels and batteries last?

Quality panels last 25 years or more, and lithium (LiFePO4) batteries typically last 10 years or more depending on use and maintenance.
